  • Clue 1

    1.The Captain's Cushions

A salty pirate breeze whispers that your first clue is tucked right where crew members rest their sea legs.

I stand tall with many wooden shelves, holding tales of high sea adventures. Where should you look next?

  • Clue 2

    2.Setting Sail

You found the captain's logbook! To reach the hidden island, the captain must sail in the proper sequence.

Put the ship's journey in order:

How the treasure hunt generator works

You answer a few questions, Captain Clue writes the hunt, and you check it before anyone plays. No templates to fill in, no riddles to write yourself.

  • Tell us who's playing: the youngest and oldest age (3 to 14) and how many children.
  • Pick a world: pirate treasure, a detective mystery or a space adventure.
  • Add the rooms you'll play in and tap the things where clues can hide: the sofa, the bookshelf, the fridge, the shoe rack.
  • Choose how long it should take, from 15 to 90 minutes. The number of clues follows the time.
  • Get the hunt, look at the treasure map and every clue card, and change anything you like.

What the generator makes for you

Every hunt is a complete, ready-to-run game, not a list of loose riddles. The sample below, The Quest for Blackbeard's Booty, shows the format: four clues for ages 6 to 8 that lead from the sofa to the bookshelf, the fruit bowl and finally the treasure chest.

  • A story with a start and an ending the kids can cheer for.
  • A chain of clues, each pointing to the next hiding spot.
  • Hints for every clue, revealed one at a time.
  • A setup guide: exactly where to hide each card, plus a materials checklist.
  • A treasure map of your own rooms and an answer key for the host.

Clues pitched at the right age

A four-year-old and a twelve-year-old need very different puzzles. The generator mixes clue types to suit the ages you enter: multiple-choice questions and finding a hidden card for the youngest, rhyming riddles and putting steps in order in the middle, codes and harder riddles for older kids. You can swap any puzzle for a new one with one tap.

Built around your home, not a generic printable

Most printable hunts assume a house you don't have. Here every clue points to something in your own rooms, so you never have to hunt for a “grandfather clock” you don't own. Small flat or big house, indoors or with a garden: you pick the rooms and the objects.

Places stay symbolic, like “under the sofa cushions”. You never enter an address, and anything unsafe (knives, stoves, balconies, climbing) is left out automatically and listed for you.

Questions parents ask

Is the treasure hunt generator free?

Making a hunt and previewing the treasure map and every clue card is free. To play it, you buy the Paper kit (€9) or the Party pack with the phone game (€19), once per adventure.

How long does it take to make a hunt?

A few minutes to answer the questions, then the hunt is written while you wait. Then check the clues and hide the cards before the guests arrive.

Is it written by AI?

Yes: an AI writes the first draft for your ages, theme and rooms. Every clue is then checked automatically for safety and for hints that give away the answer, and you can edit everything before you play.

Can I change the clues?

Yes. You can rewrite any clue, swap a puzzle for a new one, reorder clues, delete them or add your own. Each change is checked again.

Does it work as a scavenger hunt generator too?

Yes. Here a scavenger hunt and a treasure hunt are the same game: children follow clues from spot to spot around your home until they reach the prize. Pick the ages, the theme and your rooms, and you get the clues, answers and hints.

Do the kids need phones?

No. With the Paper kit everything is printed. With the Party pack, one phone per team is plenty, or the host plays on one phone and reads the clues aloud.
